History of CESFARMS UNRAM

East Indonesia Innovative Farming Systems and Capability for Agribusiness Activity (IFSCA) is a collaborative program between the University of Mataram, Indonesia and Massey University, New Zealand which aims to improve agribusiness capabilities in Eastern Indonesia. The program was started from 2015 to 2020 with a focus on developing sustainable agricultural innovation based on maize-cattle integration in Dompu Regency and developing horticultural-based sustainable agricultural to support tourism in North Lombok Regency.

The IFSCA program has contributed significantly in assisting local governments in increasing farmers’ income and employment in the horticultural agribusiness supply chain in North Lombok Regency and maize-cattle integration in Dompu. IFSCA has also contributed in providing recommendations to local governments (KLU and Dompu) particularly in formulating agricultural development policies. AsĀ  the IFSCA program will finish at the end of December 2020, to ensureĀ  the sustainability of agricultural system innovation development program and agribusiness capacity as has been carried out by IFSCA, the University of Mataram established the Center for Sustainable Farms Systems, which have not only Research and Development but also provide assistance and training activities for all stakeholders in the field of sustainable agriculture and the environment.
